Because whether you sleep in a luxurious lodge in the parks or sleeping just in a good hotel just outside it means a lot of difference in the budget! Another alternative is to sleep in a simple or more comfortable tent with your own cook so you can even ask for your own meal. It is not only safe but also adventurous to be so close to the nature and hear all the birds singing and doing the sings around your place!

The budget safaris are more possible in Kenya then in Tanzania and Uganda, that is why we focus on Kenya in the chapter.

Another way to save money is paying the parkfees yourself: it is cheaper because we don't charge you commission for that money because we have to exchange the money from one to the other even more then 3 times which is also costing!

Travelling in groups is also reducing the budget because you share the common costs like transport (minibusses have 7 - 9 seats), driver and the cook, also the seperate transport of tents.
